Hazardous Cyber Team

Hazardous Cyber Team is a defacement-oriented threat group or cluster publicly associated with the notifier overthrash1337. Two independent defacement archives preserve activity under closely related team labels, including Hazardous Cyber Team and TEAM_HAZARDOUS_PAK, supporting continuity of the brand across 2025–2026.

Archived incidents show repeated unauthorized modification of public-facing web content. Indian educational, institutional and government-related domains appear repeatedly in the recoverable sample, including the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati and a Bodoland government subdomain. DefacerID metadata frequently labels motivation as “Patriotism,” but those labels should be treated as archive/submission metadata rather than independent proof of ideology.

INFERENCE (confidence: high): external web defacement is a durable operational outcome for this actor cluster. INFERENCE (confidence: medium): India is a recurrent targeting focus within a broader target set, consistent with a Pakistan-linked patriotic framing, although hosting-location fields in defacement archives must not be conflated with victim nationality.

Technical depth remains only partially observable. Some archive entries attribute access to known vulnerabilities or configuration/admin mistakes, while others label the vector as undisclosed. Those fields are insufficient to establish a stable initial-access technique or custom exploit capability.
