Terminal 404
Terminal 404 is an active web-defacement collective closely associated with the Brazilian defacement underground and with persona LordX. Public victim artifacts from 2025–2026 repeatedly state that sites were hacked by LordX / Terminal 404, including Brazilian commercial properties, a UFRJ academic site, and an Indian hotel site. The strongest demonstrated capability is unauthorized control sufficient to alter externally visible website content.
A preserved UFRJ page provides one of the most informative group artifacts. It displays Terminal 404/LordX branding, an explicit Terminal 404 member list—CYBERGU1LD, $niff, Jrizz, V3ND3774, Eternalgx and X37Rzim—and greetings to 404Crew Cyber Team and Lost32x. Other victim pages show somewhat different member lists or co-branding, including Team Redhat, indicating either fluid membership, campaign-specific signers or loose social affiliation rather than a rigid published roster.
The relationship with 404 Crew Cyber Team is strong but should not be collapsed into identity equivalence. Terminal 404 pages repeatedly greet 404Crew as a separate entity, while DefacerID records LordX and Lost32x jointly under the 404 Crew team label. The most defensible characterization is a closely connected, partially overlapping Brazilian defacement ecosystem.
Motivation is mixed at the content level. Many pages use hacker-subculture language, taunts, peer greetings, football identity and reputation signaling. The UFRJ operation contains explicit Brazilian political commentary targeting the university and broader national political/judicial disputes. That operation demonstrates campaign-specific political messaging but is insufficient to assign a stable group-wide political ideology.
Key judgment — high confidence: Terminal 404 is a currently active, Brazil-associated public-web integrity threat whose core operating model is visible defacement and reputation/social signaling, with LordX as a central observable operator and 404Crew as a close ecosystem partner rather than a proven synonym.
